McKinney Senior in the Woods

Yes...I am behind behind behind behind on my blog posts.   I snuck into the studio today so I could get one image up from a senior session we worked in this week as a reschedule from bad weather.  David followed me all over the woods behind my house to get to this spot.  What a great sport!  More after the holidays!

10 Days of Giving - Now after Christmas...

So...I read somewhere that the 12 Days of Christmas are supposed to start on Christmas Day and go for the next 12 days.  Guess I missed that somewhere.

Anyway, due to a sick child that has been home all week and cannot return to school tomorrow, I am putting the remaining days of giving on hold.  My priority for being in the office is getting my client orders in by Christmas.  I didn't anticipate spending all this time at home this week.  When I opened the studio, I intentionally moved all files and software away from my home so that I could not be tempted to work when I am at home.  But...days like these kick my bootie.  So...I will be posting the remaining days of giving after Christmas - but that is will still get the goodies!~

Thanks for understanding!

She gets the prize....

It was below freezing for Haley's senior shoot last week.  She never complained even once.  Love her.  More later but here is one sneak peek....

10 Days of Giving Day 5

Yesterday, we took our kids and some friends to see Arther Christmas.  Oh my goodness - I LOVED LOVED LOVED that movie.   I think it may become my favorite Christmas movie after "Holiday Inn".  And then we went and got ice cream with the kids.  And the day passed by with me forgetting to post my Day 5 special.

So I must be in a giving mood due to my great day yesterday....  Today only, schedule a special Studio Mini Session** (30 minutes for $40) in the month of January, and receive a 2nd Studio Mini Session FREE to use later in the year (must be completed by August 31)

Wow!  That is a great deal!

E-mail me at by 11:59 tonight to schedule your session. My assistant Suzanne will contact you to schedule the session.

For those that took advantage of Saturday's special, I did get your messages and we will contact you to schedule!

And for my dear friend Darcy who asked me to do her daughter's senior photos - you made me cry.  First of all - having spent high school with you and some great memories together - I can't believe that you have a daughter the age we were in our last year hanging out as friends before college.  And, I am so touched and honored that you would want me to capture those memories. I feel like life just came full circle.  Can't wait to see you again!

**Session fee is due at the time of booking.  Minimum purchase requirements apply for both sessions.

10 Days of Giving Day 2

Have you ever had one of those days where every little thing that could possibly go wrong and annoy you happens?  This is one of those days...

I had to go into Dallas first thing to do a shoot for the Dallas International School.  On the way back I missed my freeway entrance and sat at numerous lights.  Then I thought I would be smart and go to a couple of stores I need to go to down in Plano as they are a good 40 minutes from home.  Well guess what - since my shoot this morning was so early, neither store was open yet.  ARGH.  So I stop at Chic-Fil-A to get a drink and my straw breaks in half while I am trying to get it in the drink, then Diet Coke seeps out of the top of the lid, and YES, I did spill Diet Coke down my shirt.  Did I mention I got mud on my new suede shoes too and I nearly got side swiped by a car on the tollway?

Anyway...this is one of those days you just have to laugh because all that happened before 9:30am! LOL - I had to share because sometimes you just have to laugh. on to today's 10 Days of Giving Special...

For today only until 11:59pm, you may purchase a 5x7 curved metal print from a previous session for only $25 (regularly $45). (image must have been ordered previously in some form - print, book, digital image, etc)

E-mail me at to cash in on this great special!  It's a great gift!!!!

Simply Stunning! {Allen High School Senior Photography}

Pin It

I spent a fun afternoon with Kayla this week.  I am buried in processing, processing, processing to get everything delivered by Christmas; but I promised Kayla I would get one sneak peek up this week.  I am going to have a hard time selecting her pictures for her gallery.  She is amazingly photogenic!

Julia - Allen High School Class of 2012

Meet Julia - a senior at Allen High School.  Poor Julia had the "luck" of being the only senior so far this year I had to reschedule due to wind - twice!  Usually we just work through the wind and fix hair between gusts.  But on two different days we had sustained winds of over 30 MPH.  Can't work with that and long hair!!!!

Julia did get to break in my new studio though as we wanted to get some shots on the original day.  I love how they turned out.

Thanks Julia for your patience and for a couple of fun afternoons.  You are stunning my dear!!!!

Katy - McKinney North High School Class of 2012 {McKinney Senior Photography}

Meet Katy - a senior at McKinney North High School.  Love her!  We had such a great time and she had some of the cutest shoes ever!  She even tolerated me when I asked for the serious looks.  She has been the most patient senior EVER as we did this session almost a month ago and I am just now showing her the sneak peeks.  Thanks for a fun afternoon Katy!

McKinney Boyd Senior in Downtown McKinney {McKinney Senior Photography}

Downtown McKinney is just a fabulous place for senior sessions.  It takes on a completely different look with senior guys than senior girls.  Loved this session with Austin.  What a great laid back guy!

Natural Beauty {McKinney Executive Headshots) I am totally in LOVE with my new studio.  I haven't said much about it as I am still moving in and adjusting, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the building!

This headshot was taken in my studio against one of the fabulous old doors.  Not the traditional headshot, but she works for a fun law firm that likes out of the ordinary.  Love it!

Walkin' in the Woods {McKinney Family Photography}

Just a few from a session with a fun family last week....

The Texas Water Again...{Allen Senior Photography}

Ok...I know I have said this too many times, but there has to be something in the Texas water system.  Another GORGEOUS senior!  Aubri is a senior at Allen High School.  She told me she doesn't like serious pictures, but I had to take a few.  Forgive me Aubri for including some serious ones along with your beautiful smile...but you are just stunning and I had to include some serious ones - they were too beautiful!

Sisters Forever! {McKinney Family Photography}

Usually when I am processing a session, there are 8-12 images that really stand out to me.  Those are the ones I choose for sneak peeks on my blog.  Every once in awhile I have a session where the images all jump out at me and I can't narrow them down.  This was one of those sessions.  These girls are just so precious and had such fun personalities.  I couldn't just show the good ones.  I had to show the outtakes because to me they are better than the "perfect ones".  These are the images I choose with my own kids - tongues stuck out, giggles, and hitting each other.  These are real life.  So I picked some of the perfectly smiling pictures to share today, but I also shared the full story.  Through life any sister will tell you that some days you love your sister, some days you want to punch your sister, some days you want to be beside your sister and some days you just want to be as far away as you can get from her- but sisters are sisters forever!  Enjoy a day in the life of two sisters....

Getting bigger every year! {McKinney Family Photography}

I have said it before, but I just really love this family.  It is wonderful to photograph a family year after year.  As I edited these pictures, I was struck by how grown up the kids have gotten over the years.  So much fun to watch them grow!
