I just love Brianna! It is the rare high school senior who knows exactly who she is and what she loves. We had so much fun thinking about how to incorporate her love of photography and photojournalism. But when she told me of her love of records and classic rock-n-roll, I thought I was in heaven. I had been dying to use the old metal stairs leading to nowhere behind our studio, and I just knew she was the right one to use them with her records! Did I mention how much I love her funky sense of style and her fabulous red shoes? These are just a few of my favorite images from her session!

Trend Alert: Neon
So...with all things 80's that we are seeing in the fashion world, it was only a matter of time before neon colors hit the scene. As a teenager in the 80's, I remember screaming neon fashion well. My philosophy on fashion is if you love it, wear it. Here is the thing though: neon doesn't really work that well in photography. When someone wears neon colors - that is all you see in the image.
Let's take this outfit for example. Personally, I think it would be stinkin' cute in person...but I think we can all agree that all your eye is just drawn in by the bright yellow skirt. I can't keep my eye looking at the model's face because it keeps wanting to look at the skirt.

So...if neon is in fashion and you LOVE neon, but it is too distracting in pictures, what are we to do? I recommend bringing the neon trend into your senior pictures in your small doses. Accessories or shoes are a great option. I looked on Polyvore.com and found some cute sets that would translate well into senior pictures and still keep you on the forefront of fashion.
This outfit incorporates neon orange with the necklace and belt. You still have the feel of the neon trend, without the color taking over your pictures. The shoes keep the orange tones and pull everything together, but the muted color keeps your eye drawn to your face and not your clothes.
What a fun way to incorporate neon yellow into an oufit...and very unexpected. The black purse really anchors the yellow and red combination, so if you don't want to use a bag in your pictures, a wide black belt and a hat would do the same thing.
If you really want to make a statement, pairing the little black dress with a neon necklace and shoes will do it! Let us pull your hair in a loose side bun and forget the earrings. You will clearly rock the neon fashion statement in this outfit.
Ok...so I am breaking my own rule with this outfit, but I feel like the hot pink tones the neon yellow down enough to work for senior pictures. This is one cute skirt! All your accessories would need to be black to pull this off, but it could be totally cute!
If you want to incorporate neon into your senior pictures, be sure to bring your ideas along with you to our consultation so that we can make sure to put together a balanced and fashionable look!

Senior Spotlight: Madison Plano West Class of 2016
Meet Madison. She is a beautiful senior at Plano West. My goodness - I don't think she can take a bad picture. Maddie has a fabulous sense of style and a calm sense of confidence. We started bright and early in the morning on the last day of summer. My eyes were hardly open but she was ready to go. Maddie chose our Glam and Style session and Cassandra did an amazing job on her hair and makeup all the way through the session. Here are a few of my favorites from her session.
